Description
As a Category Buyer at DEME Group, you will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies across HR Services, Business Travel, Car Fleet, and Contingent Workforce categories. You will manage a portfolio of preferred suppliers, ensuring optimal performance, cost-efficiency, and reliability. Working closely with HR and various cross-functional teams, you will deliver compliant and value-driven procurement solutions that support DEME’s HR objectives. You will actively promote procurement best practices across the HR and related departments, driving consistency and efficient processes. As a key liaison between procurement and HR, you will ensure that supplier relationships are managed to meet standards for cost competitiveness, service quality, compliance, safety, and sustainability. This position is based at our headquarters in Zwijndrecht, Belgium, and involves close collaboration with international teams and stakeholders across the DEME Group. Your responsibilities Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships based on trust, financial stability and shared goals. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define and implement category strategies that drive value and efficiency. Engage proactively with various internal stakeholders by listening actively, facilitating dialogue, and ensuring all voices are heard in sourcing projects and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with procurement policies and promote a culture of integrity and transparency. Lead contract negotiations focused on win-win outcomes, including service levels and pricing structures. Set clear performance expectations for suppliers regarding cost, quality, safety and sustainability. Analyze recurring supply issues, identify root causes and lead corrective action plans. Analyze spend and procurement data to identify trends and improvement opportunities and prepare concise reports for management with key findings and recommendations. Maintain open and transparent communication with the Category Manager, providing insightful updates and feedback to support informed decision-making.
