CATEGORY BUYER – AQUACULTURE, ENGINEERING, ABRASIVES, LIFTING, OILS & PPE

Are you an experienced Buyer looking to take ownership of diverse, technical product ranges that play a critical role in supporting industrial, commercial, and marine sectors?
We’re looking for a confident and commercially aware Category Buyer to join our central procurement team in Inverness. You’ll be responsible for managing stock across a wide and varied portfolio — including Aquaculture, Engineering components, Abrasives, Lifting Equipment, Oils, and PPE — ensuring availability, accuracy, and performance across the board.
You’ll work closely with suppliers, internal sales teams, and key account managers to ensure we continue to deliver on service, quality, and cost.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

· Using your stock control and system knowledge to monitor demand and place timely, accurate orders
· Managing relationships with suppliers to ensure pricing and delivery terms are met
· Reviewing acknowledgements and lead times to ensure fulfilment targets are achieved
· Keeping pricing, stock levels, and product data up to date and accurate across all categories
· Advising sales and customer service teams on availability, alternatives, and delivery times
· Communicating any additional service costs clearly (e.g. freight, packaging, surcharges)
· Collaborating with colleagues across departments to resolve queries and support product planning
