Sun Orchard is the undisputed market leader in not-from-concentrate citrus ingredients and refreshments. We are looking for a Category Buyer to join our team! The Category Buyer will be the in-house expert of their product categories, and the key interface between our vendors and all internal stakeholders. Propose a buying strategy for each category/product line, including raw materials and packaging, to senior leadership; Ensure proper execution and communication of strategy with all stakeholders; propose cost reduction and quality improvement through the execution of Requests for Proposals; develop and write policies related to the procurement of perishable and non-perishable goods and services; establishes criteria and determines supplier selection; and negotiates select commodity contracts

EXPERIENCE AND KEY QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university, majoring in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, Agricultural Economics, or a related field
• 5 years of progressive supply chain and/or procurement experience.
• Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
• Ability to set priorities, solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Maintain attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Advance knowledge and skill in Excel spreadsheet software; Inventory software, manufacturing software, and possess general email writing and online research skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Work experience in Food and Beverage industry
• Experience in packaging, fruit/vegetable purees and citrus non-from-concentrate sourcing a plus.
• Spanish Fluency a plus.
  This position is performed in manufacturing environment. There may be exposure to noise, work near moving mechanical parts and forklifts, citrus fumes or airborne particles, and outdoor weather conditions. The employee may be required to stand, walk and sit for long periods at a time, wear the proper protective equipment as required, climb a ladder or stairs, hear and communicate readily, use both hands and arms. Use of telephone, cell phones, a computer, copier, and other office equipment will be required.
