SUMMARY The Category Development Managers (CDMs) will play a vital role in the success of new product launches and the execution of the category roadmap. They will be responsible for supporting category strategic development, focusing on tactical execution of product and category management to ensure immediate product management needs are met, and collaborating closely with the operations team to facilitate successful product delivery within category budgets. Through this multi-faceted approach, CDMs will help drive the overall success of product introductions and category performance. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned. Support Category Team in Lineplan maintenance, product life cycle management including launches, updates and discontinuations. Support Category Team in monitoring financial performance for assigned category including revenue tracking, margin and profitability review, and ROS analysis Work with design, engineering and procurement teams in achieving margin goals, FOB (cost), and launch calendars Assist in MSRP pricing, evaluate margins and adjust product / packaging / pricing as needed to achieve target financials. Seek cost reduction opportunities to increase margin; work with engineering, design and supply chain to implement changes Collaborate with cross functional teams to successfully execute product launch plans and meet financial/delivery goals. Monitor progress and provide status updates to category leaders regarding product development and launch activities. Assist Category Team in analysis for SKU rationalization and productivity at the item level and make a recommendation on go-forward plan Support Category Team in S&OP process participation to ensure smooth product transitions, minimize inventory exposure and ensure high order fill rates. Support Category Team with building and analyzing competitive retail landscape to identify opportunities for new product innovations. Stay informed of industry trends, best practices and competitors activities in product development to enhance the team's effectiveness. Serve as a point of contact and bridge for all inquiries related to new product development and launches within the category. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE 5+ years of experience in Category Line and Business Management is required. Must have general knowledge of manufacturing materials, product development processes and costs. Familiarity with the online and brick & mortar retail landscape is strongly preferred. Prior experience managing the product P&L is required. EDUCATION & SKILLS Bachelor’s degree in business management, finance or other related field or equivalent work experience is required. Ability to execute and excel in high-paced organization Ability to deal with changing environments, tight timelines and multiple priorities Outstanding oral and presentation-based communication skills CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS None required COMPUTER/TECHNICAL SKILLS Must be proficient in PowerPoint, Excel and Word PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk or hear.
