JOB OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Category Head/Buyer for the Testing & Measurement category to join our procurement team. This key role will be responsible for driving sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, optimizing procurement processes, and ensuring the seamless supply of testing and measurement equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, category management, and a deep understanding of the testing and measurement industry.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• years of experience in procurement or category management, specifically in the Testing & Measurement or related technology sectors.
• Strong understanding of testing and measurement products, including their technical specifications and applications.
• Proven experience in vendor negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure to meet deadlines.

• Category Management:
• Develop and implement category strategies for Testing & Measurement products, including both capital and consumable equipment.
• Conduct market research and supplier assessments to identify opportunities for cost reduction, quality improvement, and supply chain optimization.
• Maintain and enhance supplier relationships, ensuring alignment with business goals and performance expectations.
• Procurement & Sourcing:
• Lead the sourcing process for Testing & Measurement equipment, including managing requests for proposals (RFPs), negotiating contracts, and conducting supplier evaluations.
• Oversee the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, from purchase requisition to order fulfillment.
• Ensure timely delivery and quality assurance for all testing and measurement equipment purchased.
• Strategic Planning & Budget Management:
• Develop annual budgets for the Testing & Measurement category and track performance against targets.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, etc.) to forecast demand and align purchasing strategies with business needs.
• Monitor and manage inventory levels to avoid stock-outs and overstock situations.
• Vendor Management:
• Establish strong working relationships with key suppliers, including negotiating pricing, terms, and conditions.
• Continuously evaluate supplier performance and take corrective actions as needed to meet performance metrics, including cost, quality, and delivery.
• Risk Management & Compliance:
• Ensure all procurement activities for the Testing & Measurement category comply with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
• Mitigate supply chain risks by identifying potential disruptions and developing contingency plans.
• Market Intelligence:
• Keep up to date with trends and innovations in the Testing & Measurement industry, ensuring the company stays competitive and informed of emerging technologies and best practices.
• Regularly analyze market conditions to adjust procurement strategies accordingly.
• Reporting & Analysis:
• Provide regular reports on category performance, including savings, supplier performance, and operational efficiency.
• Use data and analytics to drive decision-making and improve procurement processes.
