JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Category Management Coordinator, you will support the Supply Chain Management (SCM) team by processing requests for materials and services. You will use your skills to optimizing category performance, enhancing supplier relationships, and driving cost-saving initiatives. This role involves analyzing category performance, developing sourcing strategies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and align category strategies with business objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in supply chain management, category management, procurement, or related field.
  • Proficiency in Excel or other data analysis tools
  • Certification in supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CSCP) an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to analyze complex data sets, interpret trends, and derive actionable insights to optimize category performance.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with preferred suppliers, collaborate with contracts team to negotiate contracts and ensure compliance with terms and conditions.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for preferred suppliers within each category.
  • Assist in developing sourcing strategies to drive cost savings, improve quality, and mitigate risks within assigned categories, with a focus on directing spend to preferred suppliers.
  • Regularly evaluate the performance of selected preferred suppliers in each category, assessing key metrics such as quality, delivery performance, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Generate reports and dashboards to track key performance metrics related to preferred supplier spend, performance, and savings achieved. Analyze trends and provide insights to stakeholders to support informed decision-making.
