Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Category Management Specialist, Lumber on a permanent basis on our Home and Building Solutions (HABS) team. This position is a hybrid opportunity and is based in Saskatoon, SK.
Join a fast-paced team supporting lumber procurement and distribution across Western Canada. In this role, you’ll help manage inventory, negotiate supply agreements, and set competitive pricing for local Co-ops. You’ll analyze market trends, forecast purchasing needs, and provide insights to support sales and margin targets. WHO YOU ARE:

You are looking for a career in Category Management and:

  • Have 3-5 years’ experience in retail/wholesale hardware or building materials industry.
  • Have a University Degree in Commerce (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
  • Are extremely well organized, strong communicator, customer service oriented and proficient in Microsoft Office.
Responsibilities
  • Manage inventory for two lumber distribution centers, including forecasting, purchasing, and market trend analysis.
  • Develop and deliver sales forecasts to internal stakeholders to support strategic planning and financial modeling across the CRS.
  • Negotiate vendor pricing and supply agreements, ensuring optimal purchasing timelines and market conditions.
  • Maintain vendor contracts and pricing programs, providing regular updates and support to local Co-ops.
  • Track market pricing and industry trends, delivering daily insights and reports to guide quoting, selling, and strategic decisions.
