SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of Purchasing experience in Commodities/Dry Goods categories
  • Experience within the food service industry, preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with global sourcing and negotiating
  • Excellent product knowledge in the Commodities categories such as Cooking Oils, Rice, Corn Starch, and other dry goods.
  • Strong communication and follow-up skills

EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING:

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and direct related experience
  • Bilingual Chinese/Mandarin, preferred
Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Foster strong relationships between Purchasing and Distribution Center Operations teams.
  • Create the right environment for world class functional performance and customer support excellence.
  • Collaborate with both Distribution Center and Corporate Purchasing teams to develop global sourcing strategies for assigned product categories.
  • Collect supplier, spend and technical data from all sites for assigned product categories.
  • Monitor world supply market conditions for assigned product categories identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Identify category savings opportunities and manage these to fruition, encompassing Low-Cost Country (LCC) and global opportunities.
  • In consultation with the Legal Department, negotiate terms with suppliers and coordinate the execution of agreements.
  • Assist with the end-to-end flow of goods from suppliers to our Distribution Centers, including negotiating freight contracts, scheduling shipments, and ensuring compliance with import/export regulations.
  • Regularly report program status, spend and savings totals, etc. for assigned product categories to senior leadership.
