The Division’s induction, synchronous and special design motors and synchronous generators power critical applications across industry, infrastructure and marine transportation. Combining the best available materials with superior technology, the large motors and generators are designed to operate efficiently and reliably, even for challenging processes or applications and to have low life cycle costs.

Responsibilities

YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Large Motors and Generators Division offers a comprehensive product portfolio, including customized designs for various industries. Our motors and generators provide high efficiency and reliability in demanding environments.
As a Category Manager, you will play a pivotal role in developing, planning, and implementing procurement and logistics strategies for assigned categories. Your focus will be on optimizing costs, quality, delivery, and reliability, while ensuring all processes align with company guidelines and supply chain management protocols. This role is based in Pitäjänmäki, Helsinki, and requires a weekly presence.
We embrace new ideas and offer you a role where you can bring fresh perspectives to help us innovate and enhance supplier collaboration, work methods, and processes. To succeed in this role, we hope you have a proven track record of developing supplier collaboration.

You will mainly be responsible for:

  • Developing, planning and implementing effective and competitive sourcing strategies
  • Taking accountability of category cost level and results
  • Managing procurement activities, budgets, and forecasts
  • Negotiating with suppliers, renewing terms and conditions, and managing price lists
  • Adapting contracts to local needs and managing supplier agreements
  • Selecting suppliers based on quality, delivery, cost, and sustainability
  • Executing strategies to optimize cost, ensure quality, and maintain material availability
  • Ensuring third-party compliance with integrity and sustainability according to company directives and guidelines

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE:

  • Several years of experience in supply chain management, purchasing, logistics, or sourcing
  • Background in a globally operating industrial company, ideally with knowledge of cast and steel products
  • Proven ability to build supplier commitment and set desired requirements for achieving results
  • Effective interpersonal skills and experience in stakeholder engagement
  • Result-oriented and innovative approach, with an emphasis on partnership and cooperation
  • Fluency in English
  • Valid work permit in Finland
  • At least Bachelor’s degree for example in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Logistics or Business Administration
