Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Category Manager – Livestock and Farm Hardware on a permanent basis on our Consumer Products team. This position is a hybrid opportunity and is based in Saskatoon, SK.
Are you looking to work in category management for agricultural product lines (e.g., farm fencing, livestock supplies, bagged and manufactured feed programs, farm hardware, and Ag equipment accessories)? WHO YOU ARE:

You are looking for a career in Sales & Marketing and:

  • Have 6–9 years of relevant experience in the agricultural wholesale or retail industry.
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in agriculture or commerce (a combination of relevant education and experience may also be considered).
Responsibilities
  • Deliver short- to mid-term results and plan for long-term growth, ensuring products and programs are marketed to consumers based on the evolving needs of the marketplace.
  • Understand, analyze, and leverage Co-operative Retailing System (CRS) and industry data to compare pricing, products, and programs, ensuring competitiveness in the industry.
  • Develop and execute strategies to grow the sections while aligning with departmental objectives (Home and Building Solutions, Feed, and Ag Equipment), including targeted sales, margins, inventories, turns, and service levels.
  • Negotiate and source new or existing products and programs, either independently or through system buying groups, to meet customer needs. Identify emerging trends, opportunities, and challenges that will influence future business.
    Who you’ll work with :
    The Team: You will collaborate closely with Procurement, Item Management, Marketing, Accounting, Customer Service, local Co-ops, and zone team members. You will oversee one Category Management Specialist and report to the Associate Manager, B2C. This team is committed to fostering a culture of efficiency, results, and forward-thinking.
    The Collaborators: You will work closely with other functions in our Consumer Products business unit and collaborate across the organization with teams such as Ag Solutions and Center-led Procurement.
    The Customers: You will demonstrate customer focus while supporting Agro Centers and Home Centers of our local Co-ops.
