Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Category Manager – Manufacturers will be responsible for the strategic sourcing and category management of our preferred manufacturer portfolio. This includes developing and executing strategies to ensure the appropriate range and value of products is aligned to our sector and external client requirements. The position will deliver value creation by identifying and executing opportunities across the portfolio by collaboration with key stakeholders, promoting innovation, leveraging best commercial outcomes, adopting trend insights and optimising vendor performance management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The position holds primary relationships with core suppliers, and management of a small but agile team
  • Develop and execute category strategies to meet commercial, operational, and sustainability objectives
  • Lead supplier selection, tendering, contract negotiation, and ongoing supplier relationship management
  • Collaborate with culinary, operations, and supply chain teams to ensure product quality and service excellence
  • Analyse category performance and implement initiatives to drive efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement
  • Stay informed of market trends, risks, and innovations to inform category development and risk mitigation strategies
