Our client is a large, well-established services organisation currently investing in the growth and capability of its procurement function. Due to increased project activity and organisational change, they are seeking two experienced procurement professionals to join their team on initial contract engagements, with the potential for longer-term opportunities.

These positions offer the chance to work within a complex and fast-paced environment where procurement plays a critical role in delivering commercial value, governance and stakeholder outcomes.

Category Manager

Day Rate: $558 - $730 + Super

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded Category Manager to lead strategic sourcing initiatives and complex procurement projects across a diverse portfolio.

Working as part of a collaborative procurement team, you will be responsible for delivering end-to-end sourcing/tender activities, managing supplier engagements, supporting contract negotiations and ensuring procurement governance standards are maintained.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end procurement and sourcing projects
  • Manage tender processes from strategy through to contract award
  • Develop and implement category and sourcing plans
  • Negotiate commercial agreements and contract terms
  • Ensure procurement governance, risk and compliance requirements are met
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business
  • Identify opportunities to drive value, efficiencies and supplier performance
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function

About You

  • Proven experience in Category Management, Strategic Sourcing or Procurement
  • Strong understanding of procurement governance and best practice
  • Demonstrated experience running complex procurement projects and tenders
  • Strong commercial acumen and contract negotiation skills
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing capability
  • Experience working within regulated or structured procurement environments
  • Public sector procurement experience highly regarded
  • Positive, resilient and proactive approach with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Ability to work on site 3 days a week, 2 days from home.
