As a Category Manager for Gift & Footwear, you’ll take charge of two essential and growing categories that play a vital role in our customers’ health, well-being, and shopping experience.   Why This Role Matters Foot health is critical in pharmacy retail, impacting mobility, pain management, and overall well-being. Our footwear category provides comfort, support, and therapeutic benefits to customers seeking everyday relief and podiatry-approved solutions. Meanwhile, giftware is crucial in pharmacy retail by enhancing the customer shopping experience. Whether it’s thoughtful gifts for loved ones, wellness-themed items, or impulse purchases, giftware helps create a welcoming retail environment, increases customer engagement, and drives additional sales. Managing these categories means ensuring our customers have access to the best solutions while driving commercial success. What We Are Looking For * Proven background in Category Management, Buying, or Merchandising, specifically within the pharmacy, retail, or FMCG sectors. * High level of commercial acumen and the ability to manage resources strategically in a fast-paced environment. * Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and build lasting supplier relationships. * Proficiency in category planning tools and the ability to leverage data-driven insights. * A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is preferred. * Must have a current Australian driver’s license. * Must have the right to live and work in Australia. * Develop and implement comprehensive category strategies that align with our organisational goals and market opportunities. * Own the end-to-end process, including product planning, pricing, promotion, and exit strategies. * Monitor and manage metrics such as sales, gross profit, and stock turn to ensure efficient resource management. * Partner with cross-functional teams—including Marketing, Client Solutions, Replenishment, and Franchise Partners to execute category plans seamlessly. * Keep up with customer needs, market trends, and innovations in foot health and giftware selection. * Work closely with suppliers to secure the best products, pricing, and promotional opportunities. * Document workflows and best practices to support continuous improvement and team onboarding.
