We’re on the lookout for a motivated and detail-oriented Category Specialist to join our Marketing Team at Kmart.  As a Category Specialist, you will drive strategic growth and performance within assigned product categories by leveraging market insights, consumer trends, and competitive analysis. This role serves as the bridge between marketing, merchandising, and media agency teams to develop and execute category-specific marketing plans that enhance brand engagement, optimise category positioning, and maximize sales. The specialist ensures that these plans align with overall business objectives, delivering measurable impact through targeted campaigns, category initiatives, and data-driven decision-making.What you’ll be doingAs a Category Specialist working for Kmart you will:           Plan and execute category-specific marketing initiatives across all channels that increase transactions and improve brand metrics Use insights, critical thinking and learnings when planning activities to ensure campaigns and initiatives align with commercial, customer and brand objectives Ensure all campaigns and initiatives are delivered accurately on time and withing budget Assist with packaging process and progress packaging projects through the workflow Ensure all communications sign off processes are adhered to, are legally compliant and on-brand Monitor category performance using KPIs such as sales growth, market share and transactions Work cross-functionally with other marketing departments, merchandising, insights, online and external partners (media and suppliers) Assist the Category Marketing Manager and wider category team, in category and packaging workflow management, including tracking deliverable and timelines  We’re looking for an energetic, proactive and inquisitive individual with a high drive for achievement.To be successful in this role you’ll have: 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role Proven ability to analyse market trends and customer behaviour Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines Experience in marketing, product management or retail (FMCG or Consumer Goods) Strong attention to detail with the ability to think big picture Experience working cross functionally and collaboratively with strong interpersonal skills Proficiency in Google Sheets, Microsoft Office suite as well as strong experience Excel  spreadsheet and workflow tools (i.e. Monday.com) Basic understanding of marketing principles Relevant qualification in Marketing is highly advantageous Benefits we’ll offer you:   Flexible hybrid working options through our Flex Where, Flex When, Flex Well policy.   A team member discount card that gives you a discount at Kmart, Target, Officeworks and Bunnings  Access to the Kmart for You benefits program which entitles you to exclusive discounts and benefits in the areas of entertainment, travel, lifestyle, and health – with over 60 suppliers!   We want you to feel rewarded for your commitment and hard work that's why eligible team members get the opportunity to participate in a bonus program  We offer inclusive parental leave, and ongoing support offered though our partnership with Circle In for team members of all backgrounds and family circumstances   A dynamic learning and support program  Opportunity to fast track your career through our Mentor Program as a Mentee or Mentor  A Kudos recognition program, where you are nominated by your peers to spin a wheel, to win a stack of cool prizes  Great career opportunities across the broader Wesfarmers Group  We celebrate the rich diversity of the communities in which we operate.
