Job Purpose The Category Strategist will play a key role in shaping Red Aspen’s product vision and execution by analyzing trends, optimizing portfolio performance, and driving product and brand strategy. This role blends market insight, data fluency, creative thinking, and cross-functional collaboration to build differentiated, high-performing product experiences. Key Responsibilities Business Strategy Analyze the market, track trends, and set Red Aspen’s priorities to drive customers to the brand and create differentiation Assist and/or lead new product briefs and strategy decks; Develop reports and analyze product performance to initiate and facilitate new product development strategies Effectively communicate product and brand strategy to the executive team, strong presentation drafting and speaking skills to concisely communicate strategy Management of new product forecasts Partner cross-functionally with teams across company - product development, creative, marketing and sales, supply chain and legal on product strategies and product launches Category Management/Optimization Manage the brand portfolio by maximizing sales, while ensuring profitability and good inventory management with the right mix of products Identify sales trends, optimize inventory flow, and spotlight high-performing SKUs Monthly performance analysis of all products in the portfolio; develop and maintain dashboards in Snowflake Recommendation for discontinuation and end-of-life follow-up Pricing strategy for new and existing products to maintain margin requirements Participation in launch plans, promotional pricing & discount strategy in coordination with Go-to-Market Team Branding Eye for branding, design and compelling story telling across products and product packaging Assist with brand building through new and expanding product categories, creative direction, research, and design storyboarding Qualifications 2–4 years of experience in finance, product strategy, brand/category management, or merchandising OR current enrollment in a graduate or MBA program Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Merchandising, or a related field Proven ability to analyze market trends, customer behavior, and business performance data to influence product decisions Strong business acumen with an understanding of pricing strategy, forecasting, margin management, and financial modeling Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience presenting to senior leadership Strong cross-functional collaboration experience with teams such as marketing, creative, supply chain, and product development Aesthetic sensibility and experience contributing to visual storytelling, branding, or packaging strategy Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and timelines simultaneously Proficient in tools such as Excel/Google Sheets, PowerPoint/Slides, and data visualization platforms Familiarity with project management platforms (e.g., Asana) Preferred Qualifications Experience in consumer products, beauty, fashion, or direct-to-consumer brands Application Requirements Apply online or Send a resume to careers@redaspen.com
