SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Possesses a full clean Irish/EU manual driver’s license.
  • Prior experience in restaurants and/or hotels.
  • Demonstrates a passion for food and food styling, with a keen interest in staying updated with the latest trends in food and event styling.
  • Willingness to work night shifts and weekends, as required by the nature of the industry (overtime not applicable).
  • Availability for a five-day workweek, with occasional weekend shifts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Exceptional organizational and administrative skills, including diary management and time-keeping.
  • Proactively seeks new business opportunities and builds relationships with external vendors.
  • Proficient in major software packages, especially Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel), and database management.
  • Ability to operate food and beverage equipment present at different events.
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of corporate representation, upholding the Naomi’s Kitchen brand to the highest degree at all times.
  • Knowledgeable about South Dublin and surrounding areas.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the hospitality industry.
  • Previous experience in an events/banqueting role is essential.
  • HACCP training is required.
  • Health safety training and certificates are preferred, along with knowledge of HSE regulations.
  • First aid training is preferred but not essential.
  • Must hold a full clean Irish/EU manual driver’s license.

ROLE DESCRIPTION:

This role presents an exciting opportunity for a charismatic individual with substantial experience in catering and hospitality. We are seeking a highly organized professional who is eager to bring creativity to their role, thinks innovatively, and is dedicated to every aspect of our business. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for the seamless execution of catered events, from initial inquiry to completion. Events will vary in scale, from intimate sit-down dinner parties to large canapé receptions for up to 1000 guests, as well as high-end weddings and everything in between.
  • Possesses strong communication skills, thinks strategically about logistics, and is confident in delegating tasks to staff.
  • Organizes, books, and coordinates staff for all events, including providing on-the-job service training, creating rotas, and submitting hours for payroll.
  • Effectively bridges communication between all departments (office, events, kitchen).
  • Willingness to take on the role of head waitperson at larger events, assisting in all areas of service and delivery as needed.
  • Manages client interactions leading up to each event.
  • Maintains the cleanliness and organization of event spaces at all times.
  • Organizes all aspects of event hire and paperwork.
  • Events may encompass corporate functions, private dining, cocktail canapé parties, brand activations, and weddings.
  • Provides consistently high levels of service, paying meticulous attention to detail as these small touches set us apart from other companies. Recognizes what the guest sees and does not see.
  • Coordinates with other vendors involved in the event, including organizing hire requirements through our preferred suppliers.
  • Responds promptly to on-site client requests and makes necessary changes, sometimes at the last minute, to enhance client satisfaction.
  • Performs additional duties as required and assigned.
  • During quieter periods, may be involved in sales and marketing functions.
