We are seeking a friendly enthusiastic catering and housekeeping assistant to join our small friendly team. We are a small brand new private hospital catering for soft tissue and reconstructive surgery due to open on 1st September. Our staff work together to ensure each individual patient experiences truly excellent care from their initial consultation until discharge.
You will be responsible for preparing and serving food and beverages to our patients during their visits with us, as well as undertaking a range of housekeeping duties. You will work flexibly across the hospital to meet service and patient needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
To be successful in this role you will need to:
· Have previous experience of working in food and beverage or housekeeping, including dealing with customers
· Hold Food Hygiene Level 2 certificate
· Be qualified to GCSE level (or equivalent)
· Have the ability and willingness to undertake appropriate training
· Able to manage your own time effectively, prioritising work as appropriate
· Have knowledge and awareness of patient confidentiality, health and safety, and food hygiene as appropriate to your role
· Demonstrate an approachable and compassionate response to patients
· Possess good interpersonal skills, able to clearly and effectively communicate with colleagues, and patients and families
· Able to meet the infection control and uniform policies of the Hospital

CATERING RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Prepare and serve drinks and snacks for patients as required. To regenerate the appropriate pre-prepared main meals, and heat and serve these to in-patients
· Clean and maintain the kitchen area in line with cleaning schedule, including stacking and unstacking the dishwasher, cleaning surfaces and equipment, checking and cleaning all refrigerators storing food and beverage items
· Completing and accurately recording required checks e.g. daily temperatures
· Ensuring all food and beverages are appropriately stored, labelled, covered, and in date and disposing of items as appropriate
HOUSEKEEPING RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Carry out spot cleaning and ensure initial spillages are dealt with swiftly and efficiently, and request the further cleaning of required areas from the relevant domestic team
· Ensure equipment / facilities are in good working order, report and follow up on any maintenance issues to the necessary department, and put any necessary warning signs in place; escalate to manager as necessary
· Assist with ordering, checking, and unpacking supplies, checking stock levels and rotating stock as necessary
· Cleaning all equipment in the patient space (e.g., lockers) in between patients as directed
· Storing patients’ property and belongings securely
Assist the nursing team with the cleaning of beds and bed making daily
