Nestled in the heart of Northwood, this prestigious independent school St Helen's School caters for 800 day pupils and staff for lunch service but also an extensive hospitality service. This operates 5 days a week with overtime available. This position is based within our Nursery to Year 2 kitchen - serving around 250 pupils per day. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Catering Assistant to make a name for themselves within the food service industry and be a part of setting the new standard for education catering. Job Description As a catering Assistant you will… Assist in the preparation and serving of lunch, snacks and hospitality events according to established menus and recipes. Maintain cleanliness of the front of house areas including organising dishes and utensils. Following proper food handling and storage procedures to ensure food safety and prevent contamination. Monitor inventory levels of food and supplies and notify management of any shortages or discrepancies. Provide friendly and efficient service to students and staff during mealtimes, addressing any concerns or special dietary needs. Participate in training sessions and meeting related to food service procedures, safety protocols, and customer service standards. Qualifications Ideally have experience working within education catering Have good Health & Safety knowledge. Flexible with a can-do attitude, customer focused. Fun and enthusiastic Have excellent organization skills. Demonstrate great attention to detail. Be a team player and enjoy succeeding as a team. Possess great customer service skills. Have a flexible approach to work.
