CATERING ASSISTANT

As a valued member of our Catering Team, you will play an important role in delivering exceptional food service by preparing patient meal trays, taking meal orders, and assisting with food preparation tasks.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

To succeed in this role, you will be a reliable team player with a positive attitude and a strong commitment to patient care and food safety. You thrive in a busy environment and bring a customer-focused approach to everything you do.

You will also demonstrate:

  • A sound understanding of food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety practices.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly and professional manner.
  • The ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage time effectively.
  • Previous experience in a hospital or commercial kitchen setting (highly regarded but not essential).
  • Flexibility to work across a 7-day roster.
  • A willingness to embrace and promote Ramsay Health Care’s core values.
  • Certificate II or III in Hospitality (desirable).
  • Knowledge of HACCP and food handling compliance.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must provide a National Police Check conducted within the previous 12 months.
  • According to the role, Ramsay may require a Working-With-Children check and proof of immunisation against infectious diseases.
Responsibilities
  • Preparing and serving meals and beverages in line with dietary requirements and hospital standards.
  • Maintaining a clean, hygienic, and safe working environment at all times.
  • Assisting the broader catering team with daily operations and special requirements.
  • Monitoring and managing stock levels to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Working across a rotating 7-day roster, including morning and afternoon shifts.
