Who We’re Looking For: We’re looking for a skilled and dedicated culinary professional to join our Catering Division as a Catering Chef Lead. In this role, you’ll work as part of our commissary team to prepare menu items for assigned events, and take the lead on-site by overseeing kitchen operations. You’ll manage event setup, guide your team through production and plating, and ensure every detail meets SaltBlock’s standards for quality and presentation.

Critical Responsibilities & DeliverablesThe Catering Lead Chef will be responsible for the following:

SKILL AND BEHAVIORAL EXPECTATIONS

  • Demonstrate strong leadership, mentoring, and delegation skills in a dynamic catering environment.
  • Exhibit calm problem-solving and adaptability in fast-paced, high-pressure situations.
  • Maintain a polished, professional appearance and uniform standard.
  • Engage positively with clients, guests, and team members.
  • Show strong reading comprehension to interpret BEOs and apply them accurately.
  • Display detail-oriented focus and adherence to timelines.
  • Complete required training and onboarding before leading events to ensure full understanding of SaltBlock’s culinary standards, service models, and operational workflows.
  • Support your development by picking up staff shifts or cross-training opportunities to deepen your knowledge of SaltBlock’s kitchen operations and event execution.
