The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality food for a variety of events, including weddings, corporate functions, barbecues, and private gatherings. This role involves working across diverse venues, collaborating with clients and staff, and ensuring all food is delivered to a consistently high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, cook, and present food for a diverse range of events, including barbecues, weddings, and corporate catering.
  • Provide day-to-day culinary management of catering and venue operations
  • Oversee staffing levels (scheduling) to meet service, operational, and finance objectives; working collaboratively with the VPs, and Human Resources staff to recruit, interview, select, and hire an appropriate number of employees
  • Develop, prepare, and maintain accurate cost worksheets
  • Development of recipes, formulas, procedures, step-by-step assembly instructions and SOP requirements
  • Oversee purchasing, receiving, and inventory control of raw materials
  • Set up and dismantle kitchen stations at various indoor and outdoor venues.
  • Operate barbecues, grills, ovens, and other catering equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure all food is prepared to a consistently high standard, delivered punctually, and tailored to event-specific menus and client expectations.
  • Coordinate directly with clients for menu planning and tasting sessions, offering guidance and accommodating feedback to ensure satisfaction.
  • Manage dietary restrictions, allergens, and special meal requests in accordance with guest and client requirements.
  • Support menu development and execute pre-event food preparation, including prepping, portioning, and packaging.
  • Coordinate effectively with event staff and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth and timely food service.
  • Monitor stock levels, pack necessary supplies, and oversee the transport and organization of equipment and ingredients for each event.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all workstations, equipment, and service areas before, during, and after events.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and represent the company with professionalism at all times.
  • Supervise and mentor kitchen staff and junior cooks, providing on-the-job training and guidance to uphold culinary and health and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with chefs and kitchen assistants in high-pressure, fast-paced environments to deliver exceptional food experiences.
  • Monitor opportunities and implement strategies to reduce waste
  • Prepare and maintain detailed, accurate production records (i.e. time, temperature)
  • Ensure all products are produced to the highest possible standard and shipped on time with 100% fulfillment
  • Ensure facility is maintained to the highest Company standards
  • Attend weekly/bi-weekly managers meeting
  • Other duties as assigned

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar catering or event chef role
  • Formal culinary training or relevant certification
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
  • Demonstrates strong customer relationship skills; including ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees.
  • Excellent problem solving, multi-tasking abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing conditions
  • Guest-focused attitude and a commitment to delivering high-quality service
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

Working Conditions:

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $74,000.00-$82,000.00 per year
