Essential Job Duties | Rave! Catering is seeking enthusiastic individuals to Join our Pack as a Catering Events Supervisor. Rave! Catering proudly employs experienced, certified chefs and catering professionals to provide the highest degree of service possible to ensure successful events.
The primary purpose of this position is to supervise the prep work and setup for catering events around campus.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma or equivalency.
  • Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work will also be considered.

DEPARTMENT REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Provide outstanding customer service, including the ability to remain professional and respectful under pressure when dealing with difficult situations.
  • Adaptability to address changing customer volume levels with a sense of urgency.
  • Be dependable and manage time efficiently.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work well as part of a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with customers, peers and supervisors.
  • Ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions.
  • Demonstrated excellent organization skills and attention to details.
  • Excellence in completing all tasks, especially following and executing the written instructions of the Banquet Event Order.
  • This position requires standing for long periods of time, walking, bending, twisting, pulling and pushing. Because of the nature of a food service operation and working in a kitchen, you must be able to work in extremely hot and cold conditions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lb with or without reasonable accommodation.

PREFERRED YEARS EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, TRAINING, EDUCATION:

  • Previous work experience in catering or food service experience.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of food safety, cleaning and sanitation procedures.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Supervise staff in the the absence of a catering event coordinator ensuring that events are successful.
  • Professionally and successfully execute all components of the Banquet Event Order (BEO).Prepare silverware and napkins, and perform general stockroom duties.
  • Provide food and beverage service for buffets, break services, receptions and plated meals.
  • Other duties as assigned to ensure NC State Dining business needs are met. Position may be asked to assist in other locations as necessary.
    Dedicated and experienced professional staff are available to provide on-the-job training and assistance so you become a successful member of the catering team. This is an hourly position, that includes a State required 32-day break at the end of 11 months.
    NC State Dining provides campus wide food services to students, staff, and faculty on the North Carolina State University Campus. NC State Dining operates 11 cafes, 3 food courts and 6 dining halls, 3 markets, 2 restaurants, vending, a nutritional counseling service, and a catering department. The department employs approximately 1000 temporary and student employees and approximately 190 permanent EPS and SHRA employees.
