GENERAL SUMMARY The Catering Manager is responsible for the overall operation, sales, and account acquisition of the catering business and promotes and executes social events, meetings and private banquets. The Catering Manager works closely with clients to ensure their event is a success, and follows up with the client to get feedback after the event. The Catering Manager will place equal emphasis on planning and executing member events as external catering events. ESSENTIAL TASKS Responsible for adhering to and promoting the catering business plan; research prior clients; outbound marketing to former clients; market catering to new professional offices, companies, and clients. Cultivate strong client relationships/partnerships, ensuring client satisfaction Implement the Caterease software and know how to utilize the program. Demonstrate products and services to existing and potential customers and assist them in selecting those best suited to their needs. Implement marketing strategies which will effectively drive sales and assist in attaining stated sales objectives. Establish and maintain business relationships with current customers and prospective customers in the Southwest Florida area to generate new business for catering products and services. Research sources for developing prospective customers and for information to determine their potential. Develop clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers. Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints, providing a world-class level of customer service and maintaining a high expectation for quality. Monitor and provide feedback to leadership on products and services to maintain consistent quality with established standards. Assist and execute marketing programs which promote the company brand and help to drive sales; measure success of various marketing campaigns. Coordinate sales efforts with management, accounting, and service groups. Work with all departments regarding new product development and introduction. Work with other catering and kitchen staff to maximize departmental sales and quality goals and objectives. Plan and coordinate offsite events with vendor partners. Must attend catering events. All other jobs and activities as deemed necessary by the Head Chef to aid in function of catering and any other ventures we expand into in the future. Requirements Education: Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in hospitality, sales, or management. Experience: Must possess a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, with a sales concentration. Caterease or other Catering Software knowledge. Confidentiality: Works with confidential information – account numbers Mental/Visual Demands: Flow of work requires normal mental and visual capabilities. Physical Demand: The employee is required to handle, feel and/or reach with hands and arms, squatting, bending, and constantly moving on a regular basis. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Working Conditions: Working in different weather conditions outside is to be expected. Must be willing to occasionally work non-standard work schedule including nights, weekends, and other unusual hours due to business needs. Travel will be required for this position. Travel: Travel is required in this role. This role is required to maintain primary auto insurance minimum liability limits of $100,000/$300,000 bodily injury, $100,000 property damage or $300,000 combined single limit. Must be an approved St. Matthew’s House driver.
