Hotel Wingate Dieppe is a small business in Dieppe, NB E1A 9K3. Hotel This multi-layered position will allow the candidate to learn about event planning from many perspectives, from being administratively engaged in the process, as well as hands on through food and beverage service work experience. Require a vast knowledge in many aspects of the hotel operations, this position will concentrate on cross-property support, focused on supporting the departments closest to the conference services department. Duty supervisory shifts and liaison with guests from a guest satisfaction perspective, along with employee events and activities is also a key learning opportunity within this position. This position will allow you to grow throughout the operating season and will assist you in building strong skills within the hospitality industry. QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Excellent Interpersonal Skills
  • Experience in Food and Beverage
  • Excellent judgement and diplomacy
  • Sound Knowledge of MS Office applications, including Word and Excel, POS
  • Strong computer & typing skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Post-Secondary courses related to hospitality or event planning an asset
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • A self-starter and team player
  • Ability to work well independently
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings and prepared to work all weekends, if required due to business levels
  • Bilingual French/ English

    Pay: $16.00-$18.00 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Conference Services Manager (CSM) in all areas including:
  • Production of Banquet Event Orders.
  • Preparation of group/wedding and agendas.
  • Assist with onsite coordination of events with meeting groups/weddings and other events, weekend availability is crucial for the position.
  • Administrative support for the Conference Sales Manager.
  • Lead wedding and group meeting site tours as required.
  • Assist with scheduling, training and development of team members.
  • Respond to guest inquiries about guest concerns and follows up to ensure resolution.
  • Liaison with all departments as required, primarily the Kitchen, Front Desk and Housekeeping Departments.
  • Maximize revenue and profit through high standards of guest & employee satisfaction.
  • Assist in creating a safe work environment
  • Assist in other departments as required when business levels dictate.
