Join Our Team as a Catering Sales Manager
We are seeking an experienced, creative, and entrepreneurial Manager of Catering and Sales to join our sales team. The position will sell for the AC Hotel by Marriott Worcester. This premier upscale lifestyle hotel, located in the heart of downtown Worcester, MA offers 12,000 square feet of meeting and event space.
Claremont Companies is headquartered in Lakeshore Center in Bridgewater, Massachusetts. Claremont Companies is a privately owned and closely held real estate investment, development, and asset management firm. Today, Claremont owns more than 60 real estate assets consisting of hotels, apartments, retail centers, and office buildings with plans to expand even further.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position is an integral member of the leadership team and will collaborate with the General Manager, Director of Sales, Revenue Management, Food, and Beverage, and Sales departments. Together the team will optimize catering revenues and maximize the profitability of the hotel while exceeding guest expectations.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Catering Manager role or 4+ years of progressive experience
  • 3+ years of successful experience in proactive sales and the ability to effectively close business
  • Working knowledge of banquet/catering food and beverage service, operations & policy
  • Requires computer knowledge, Microsoft Office Applications, POS systems; MARSHA, FOSSE, Delphi preferred but not required
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Must be self-motivated and results-oriented
  • Candidates may be called upon to work extended workweeks, including weekends, to accommodate business and client needs
  • Adheres to Company standards, brand standards, and local, state, and federal regulations

  • Work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
  • Provide outstanding customer service by addressing customer concerns in a timely and courteous manner
  • Participate in networking events
  • Generate Catering forecast by understanding food costs and profitability
  • Ensures that processes and procedures are appropriate for the needs of the hotel and communication is accurate and effective
