We are seeking a dynamic Catering Sales/Office Manager to join our team and drive our growth in the competitive catering market.
Job Summary
The Catering Sales Manager will lead sales efforts to secure corporate catering, event catering, weddings, and special occasion bookings while managing a small team of sales and event staff. This role combines strategic sales leadership, team management, and hands-on client relationship management to deliver exceptional events while meeting revenue goals. The ideal candidate is a charismatic, results-driven professional with a passion for food, events, and hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Leadership: Develop and execute a sales strategy to grow the client base for corporate catering, weddings, and special events, achieving or exceeding monthly and annual revenue targets.
- Team Management: Lead and mentor a small team of sales and event staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment to ensure successful event execution and client satisfaction.
- Client Acquisition: Identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, and leveraging industry contacts to secure bookings.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs to create tailored catering proposals and ensure repeat business.
- Event Collaboration: Work closely with the events team to ensure seamless execution of catering services, from menu planning to event delivery, maintaining Fork + Farm’s high standards.
- Proposal Development: Create compelling, customized proposals and presentations for clients.
- Market Research: Stay informed on industry trends, competitor offerings, and local market demands to position Fork + Farm as a leader in the catering industry.
- Budget Management: Monitor sales budgets, track expenses, and ensure profitability for all events while delivering exceptional value to clients.
- Marketing Support: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials, social media campaigns, and client outreach initiatives to boost brand visibility.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of sales experience, preferably in catering, hospitality, or event planning, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Leadership Experience: Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a small team, with experience in team management or supervisory roles.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of corporate catering, wedding planning, and special event logistics, with a passion for food and beverage trends.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to pitch ideas and negotiate contracts effectively.
- Relationship Building: Charismatic and professional demeanour, with a talent for building trust and long-term relationships with clients.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple clients, events, and team responsibilities simultaneously, with strong attention to detail and time management.
- Tech Savvy: Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot), Microsoft Office, and social media platforms for sales and marketing purposes.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, hospitality, marketing, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to accommodate event schedules.
