JOB SUMMARY:
The Catering Sales Manager is responsible for actively selling and servicing weddings and social events. Servicing of events includes menu planning, agenda setting, and hotel event services. Responsibilities will also include contract review and facilitating communication before, during and post event with hotel Talent to ensure a high level of service. The Catering Sales Manager will oversee each event from the initial inquiry through the post event phase of the program.
SKILLS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

- High school education required, college degree preferred.
- Previous experience in a luxury hotel setting. Along with small to large scale events.
- Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, management and co-workers, both in person and by telephone
- Ability to accurately and efficiently input information into computer systems, with developed computer proficiencies.
- Ability to work cohesively with co-workers both within and outside of your department
- Ability to think clearly, quickly and make concise decisions
- Ability to work well under pressure, dealing with many guest requests/questions within a short period of time
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Ability to prioritize and organize workload to ensure deadlines are met.
- Ability to handle stressful situations, while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor.
- Customer service oriented with a desire to create memorable guest experiences.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule primarily daytime hours, Monday-Friday, with the flexibility to work weekends if needed.

Responsibilities:
- Handling the contracting and planning of event inquiries in the wedding and social market.
- Maximize revenue by selling all facets of the hotel including room rental, food and beverage, and other revenue generating opportunities.
- Solicit new and existing accounts to meet and exceed individual quarterly and yearly revenue goals through proactive sales efforts via telephone, outside sales calls, site inspections and written communication.
- Negotiate effectively to achieve maximum revenue for hotel while meeting and/or exceeding client’s needs.
- Detailing of meetings and events based on client specifications, including space requirements, times, equipment, menus, décor, staffing, etc.
- Communicate effectively with the operational departments to ensure a seamless experience for the client.
- Generate contracts, prepare the appropriate paperwork, including banquet event orders (BEOs), coordinate with the appropriate areas in the hotel, resolve any issues, complaints, and problems to ensure quality product delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Execute and support the administrative aspects of booked business (proposals, contracts, customer correspondence).
- Communicate all relevant information to the Culinary, Banquets, Guest Reception, AV, and other appropriate departments in a detailed and timely manner.
- Conduct site inspections to showcase hotel and close business.
- Respond promptly to all sales inquiries within designated market segment(s).
