Job Description:

  • To creatively solicit and upsell all hotel customers and to ensure that value paid is value received, not only in product, but in service and in ambiance.

Responsibilities:

  • Solicitation of local catering events.
  • Maximize Catering revenues from local catering groups and minimize erosion of check averages from price-sensitive groups. Communication of function-arrangements to all responsible hotel departments.
  • Communication with clients prior to events to initiate, negotiate, and close contracts for all catered functions.
  • Creation of profitable menus and distribution of client expectations to Food & Beverage Departments.
  • Coordinate Catering support services (flowers, entertainment, decoration, A/V, valet parking, etc.) to provide complete client satisfaction.
  • Maximize revenues for the hotel through upselling support services that pay the hotel commission or provide the services at a discount to the hotel.
  • Physically double-check all function arrangements against specifications of client. Correct where necessary.
  • Review event billing prior to bill being sent to client.
  • Research and cost out new menu items.
  • Client contact and effective communication to ensure repeat bookings.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to solicit new business and/ or maximize revenue for the hotel.
  • Other duties as assigned by Director of Catering and Convention Services.

Qualifications:

  • Previous Sales, Catering and/or Conference Services experience in the Hospitality industry required.
  • Associates Degree or higher strongly preferred.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft programs.
  • Previous experience with Delphi strongly preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
  • Must be able to work cohesively with many departments - Sales, Culinary, Banquets, Front Office, etc.
  • Position requires movement throughout interior and exterior of the resort.
  • Must be able to operate office equipment - computer, copier, fax, printer.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time, lift up to 25 lbs unassisted, manuever throughout resort when walking space with clients.
