JOB DESCRIPTION

We are hiring for part-time positions in our Catering Department for Queen’s Hospitality Services with Aramark Canada.
The Catering Services Worker supports the event operations team in running successful catering orders and events within the location. The Catering Services Worker supports and carries out event set up, transporting equipment, food, or other supplies to the event location, serving guests during the event, and breaking down/ cleaning up after the end of an event. The Catering Services Worker key responsibility is to provide our guests with an unforgettable experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous catering or bartending experience preferredHigh attention to detail
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Customer- service oriented
  • Must be available to work event-based hours which include days, afternoons, evenings, late nights and weekend
  • Current valid Smart Serve certification is preferred and successful candidates must be able to obtain and maintain this certification
    This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Minimum 1-2 years experience

Responsibilities
  • Complete knowledge of meals and food choices that you are serving; ability to verbally present dish to guests.
  • Serve plated meals to guests and respond to questions and/or any requests.
  • Monitor and ensure exceptional service standards from all banquet staff.
  • Set up food stations with company standards and policies in mind, ensuring safe food handling practices are followed.
  • Clear tables of dirty plates, glassware and other debris throughout service.
  • Communicate with managers, other support staff and clients or vendors, as needed.
  • Move and stack tables and chairs.
  • Clean, polish and replenish glassware, as required.
  • Complete light cleaning tasks; taking out the garbage, sweeping and mopping the banquet kitchen floor and service hallway.
  • Set up catering and event service according to client/customer requests and banquet event order
  • Transport and deliver catering food and beverage with all vital supplies and equipment
  • Replenish Food and Beverage products during events
  • Maintain appearance and cleanliness of food service areas during events
  • Pick up and clean up food and beverage deliveries after service
  • Break down and clean area after the conclusion of the events and return equipment to accurate storage
  • Provide excellent customer service to all guests
  • Follow safety policies and procedures
