ABOUT US:

The Concord Market on Campus is hiring for a Catering Sous Chef! This is a dynamic leadership role that supports both front and back of house service. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys variety in their day, and is eager to support our growing team, working closely with our Executive Chef (ability to communicate clearly/effectively in English, a must). Responsibilities include assisting with food preparation, communicating effectively with the FOH team, restocking, maintaining cleanliness, supporting catering logistics, and delivering excellent customer service.
As part of a small and collaborative team, flexibility is essential. The ideal candidate is passionate about culinary excellence and brings a strong background in large-scale catering/food preparation (min 2-3 years). We’re looking for a collaborative individual with strong culinary skills, extreme efficiency, proactive forecasting, and the ability to lead, inspire, and manage a team. In addition to core responsibilities, this role may include tasks such as catering deliveries, drop-offs, basic event setup. Day-to-day responsibilities may evolve based on operational needs and the discretion of ownership or the Executive Chef.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand/walk for 6–8 hours.
  • Must have a current ServSafe Certificate or be willing to acquire one.
  • Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
  • Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
  • Exposure to temperatures: <32 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), 32–40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators), >90 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Ability to work in a wet and cold environment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to use tools and equipment, including box cutters and other machinery.
