Position Summary: Performs various imaging procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Qualifications: Licenses: Licensed by the state as a radiation operator; Registered by ARRT as a Radiologic Technologist Certifications: BLS; ACLS - obtained within 6 months of hire Essential Functions: Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation. When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice. Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate. Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s). Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure. Enters, transmits and reports scan results. Maintains appropriate supply inventory in both special procedures and radiology, orders supplies as necessary, assist in training new staff into modality, etc. Scrubs in to assist, monitoring documentation, room circulator, etc. Responsible for working with Provider(s) to coordinate the Cath Lab schedule and add on patients Responsible for coordinating Education and In-services for Cath Lab staff Primary preceptor for all new Cath Lab Techs What we offer We believe that investing in our employees is the first step to providing excellent patient care. Responsibilities
The Cath Lab Technician performs various imaging procedures and monitors patient conditions during these procedures. They are also responsible for coordinating the Cath Lab schedule and assisting in the training of new staff.
