We rescue and rehabilitate stray, neglected and unwanted animals and find them new loving homes. This is an exciting time to join us as we have recently expanded our activities both in the community and in our two catteries and foster network.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Reports to: Animal Operations Manager
Location: You will work at all of our sites, including Eastcote, Northwood, and Hemel Hempstead. You need to be able to travel independently to all of these locations.
Working hours: 3 days per week (8.30am to 5pm with one hour break) on a rota. The days will differ each week and will include regular weekend working. The rota will be prepared one week in advance and your location will depend on where cover is needed but could be at a different site each day. Short notice changes to the rota may be required to fit with business needs. The position is offered on a one year contract initially.
Salary: starting £14,285

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Essential
· Cat knowledge and experience, preferably in a rescue centre, vet, or cattery
· Self motivated, able to work and communicate well in a team, and able to work as a ‘lone worker’
· Able to work at pace and highly organised in a busy workplace
· Full clean driving licence for manual vehicle, held for at least two years
· Excellent administrative and communication skills
Desirable
· Experience with feral and difficult to handle cats
· Microchipping experience
· Basic animal first aid
· NVQ in Animal Welfare or registered veterinary nurse status

The Cattery Cover & Welfare Assistant role is at the heart of what we do. It is a hugely rewarding role as each day you will see the difference you make to many cats’ lives. As well as a passion for animals, you will need to be very organised and self motivated and have an excellent aptitude for dealing with people as well as animals. You with receive a full induction and training, but should you be prepared to ‘hit the ground running’.
