Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the new Country Business Leader (CBL), you will be fully P&L accountable for BD’s Biosciences business (BDB) in the UK&I, providing direct leadership to the BDB team including dedicated Commercial and Customer/Technical Support associates, identifying growth opportunities and implementing plans to realize the opportunities.
In this role, you will sit at the center of BD’s matrix organization and will closely collaborate with and coordinate between the European BDB teams and BD UK businesses.
You will report to the Country General Manager UK&I and the VP/GM BDB EMEA, working as a member of the BDB EMEA Leadership Team as well as the UK&I Leadership Team, with a team of circa 25 people.

STRATEGY EXECUTION / COMMERCIAL IMPLEMENTATION (P&L ACCOUNTABILITY):

  • Ensures the development of exciting but achievable operating plans and budgets for BDB in the UK & Ireland
  • Is accountable for overall BDB UK performance to budget.
  • Provides effective commercial reporting to European and UK leaders.
  • Leads the implementation of marketing and sales plans, new product launch plans, pricing, working in close collaboration with European business teams to ensure effective leverage of resources and capabilities.
  • Monitors and coordinates short and long term market and business trends and ensures translation into reliable short, medium and long-term plans (from operational forecasting to market development).
  • Proactively supervises the financial performance of BDB and any deviations from critical project plans. Ensures implementation of any vital contingency plans and/or corrective actions to effectively mitigate risks.
