The Primary Care Mental Health Team in West Dunbartonshire is delighted to be offering a 1 wte permanent Band 7 Clinical Associate in Applied Psychology (CAAP) or CBT Therapist role within our team.
The postholder will deliver evidence-based psychological therapies to service users with a range of presenting mental health conditions in both individual and group formats. The postholder will provide specialised clinical supervision and contribute to local teaching, training and service development initiatives. The postholder will have access to clinical supervision with a Clinical Psychologist and to a range of CPD opportunities dependent on interest and service need.
Applicants to the CAAP post must have an Honours degree in Psychology (eligible for GBR) Masters level (or equivalent) degree in Psychological Therapy in Primary Care.
Applicants to the CBT therapist post must have a Post-graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy which is recognised and accredited by the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Therapy and relevant professional training to degree level or equivalent in a core profession which includes basic mental health training, i.e. Registered Mental Health Nurse, Social Work, Occupational Therapy and be registered with the relevant professional regulatory body, i.e. the NMC or HCPC.
The postholder will be enthusiastic about team working and will work as an integral member of our team, offering advice and consultation on clients’ psychological care to other colleagues in other teams on occasion, and to other non-professional carers. Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary setting within Adult Mental Health is desirable. The posts are predominantly Monday-Friday 9-5 pm, but some may require weekday evening work on occasion.
