OVERVIEW

We’re seeking a Systems Engineer with proven experience in system design and Interface & Integration Management (I2S) to support the implementation of Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC) on major transit and rail projects. From early concept through commissioning, you’ll play a key role in shaping smarter, safer, and more connected transportation systems.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a closely related field.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in systems engineering or a similar field.
  • Extensive knowledge of transit and rail systems design, construction, and systems integration, particularly within railway infrastructure.
  • Experience with system-level planning and management of design and construction for both new infrastructure and rehabilitation projects.
  • Familiarity with construction inspections and investigations, applying relevant regulatory standards and policies.
  • Demonstrated self-direction and leadership capabilities, especially in guiding mid- to senior-level engineers and supporting QA/QC efforts.
  • Skilled in reviewing technical documents and developing high-complexity engineering deliverables.
  • Proven ability to manage subcontractors and field personnel to meet safety and project goals.
  • Commitment to maintaining workplace safety and compliance with all applicable policies and procedures.
  • Adaptable to dynamic project schedules and able to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally as required by specific projects.
  • Prepare construction safety and phasing plans and update system layout plans, coordinating closely with transit agencies, owners, consultants, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Support the implementation of CBTC (Communications-Based Train Control) systems, including schedule planning and cost estimation.
  • Review technical submissions to assess compliance with applicable standards and quality requirements.
  • Prepare transition plans and procedures for client operations, maintenance, and control center functions from legacy train control systems to CBTC.
  • Work independently or within multidisciplinary teams to support installations, estimate quantities and costs, and ensure compliance with project specifications and technical documentation.
  • Assist in the engineering review of designs, plans, and contracts to confirm alignment with regulatory and engineering standards.
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: $130,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
