Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

The role involves preparing and reviewing journal entries and performing accounting reconciliations in accordance with NSW Health and District policies. It also includes contributing to month-end and year-end processes by generating financial reports, resolving account discrepancies, and responding to various ad hoc requests. Accuracy and compliance are central to the responsibilities, ensuring that financial operations run smoothly and meet reporting standards.
Beyond the technical tasks, the role requires collaborative communication with staff across the Local Health District and other Health entities to complete work efficiently and in line with procedures. It also demands a sound understanding of current Ministry of Health regulations, Australian Accounting Standards, and internal policies, allowing for independent decision-making across diverse functions. The position blends financial expertise with proactive engagement in maintaining strong operational integrity.
