We are seeking a compassionate Social Worker to join our Child Protection Counselling Service (CPCS) team within the Violence, Abuse and Neglect (VAN) service stream. This role provides specialist casework and therapeutic counselling to children and their families/carers where Risk of Significant Harm (ROSH) due to domestic violence, physical abuse, or neglect has been confirmed by Family and Community Services and/or the Joint Child Protection Response Program (JCPRP).
As a senior clinician, you will also contribute to clinical leadership within the team, provide professional supervision to junior staff, and play a key role in service development and evaluation.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

  • Deliver trauma-informed, client-centred counselling and casework to children and families impacted by child abuse and neglect.
  • Provide medium to long-term interventions that support recovery, enhance safety, and strengthen parenting capacity.
  • Collaborate with external partners including Community Services, JCPRP, schools, police, and non-government agencies.
  • Act as a clinical leader within the CPCS team by supporting service development, evaluation, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Provide professional supervision and mentorship to less experienced social workers.
  • Support staff and student education through teaching and reflective practice.
