Description Reports to Executive Director FLSA Status Part-Time, Exempt (Non-Union position) 6-month contract Application Deadline Until Filled Salary $98,819 to $117,844 per year PROGRAM DESCRIPTION Central California Legal Services (CCLS) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was founded in 1966 for the purpose of providing free civil legal services to low-income individuals. CCLS core counties include Fresno, Kings, Mariposa, Merced, Tulare, and Tuolumne. CCLS’s health work also extends to San Luis Obispo, Monterey, San Benito, and Stanislaus counties. In Madera County, CCLS provides limited services to seniors and on health issues. CCLS has offices in Fresno, Merced, and Visalia, and satellite offices in Mendota and Los Banos. With nearly one hundred (100) employees, CCLS’s work includes direct services that meet our clients’ immediate needs, education, and advocacy. JOB DESCRIPTION The Deputy Director of Development will report to the Executive Director and will be immediately responsible for assisting with development-based fundraising objectives for the organization. The Deputy Director of Development will also work collaboratively with members of the management team to increase private donations, specifically including donations from private attorneys, law firms, community organizations, and individual donors. Requirements DUTIES Assist the Executive Director with preparations for CCLS 60th Anniversary events and annual dinner, as well as researching and prioritizing new funding sources (foundation, corporate, and government funding); Collaborate with community partners in pursuit of cooperative applications for funding, reaching out to nonprofit partners to secure letters of support, MOUs, etc.; Assist the Executive Director with creation and execution of a robust and multi-pronged private donor development plan, which produces significant year-over-year growth in CCLS’s private donor support by building and cultivating relationships that increase individual giving, including private donors, attorney law firms, corporate and business entities, and community organizations; Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS A master’s or graduate degree (preferred) or bachelor’s degree with a minimum of three years’ professional experience in a related field; previous fundraising, grant writing and contract management, or similar work, essential; Experience in financial management; strong writing and verbal skills; strong organizational skills; knowledge of Central Valley legal community helpful. Effective interpersonal relationships at all organizational levels and with the public and coworkers; possess a high degree of maturity and integrity, and exercise good judgment; Competency and experience with PC systems and standard software (Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Desktop publishing and relevant databases); Must be flexible and capable of managing many diverse tasks simultaneously; ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines; Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy; willingness to adapt to changing situations; must demonstrate initiative and independent accomplishment of job assignments and duties; Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse groups of individuals and organizations including ability to provide leadership within a culturally diverse environment; Commitment to CCLS core mission and values; Reliable transportation, valid CA driver’s license with appropriate car insurance.
