Community Care Services supports our aging population, helping them live with dignity and independence in their own homes. Our services cater to the elderly and those with mental illness, disabilities, or other disadvantages.
We are seeking a dedicated Community Care Officer on a casual basis to support the individual needs of the frail, aged, and those with a disability in the Barcaldine area. The role involves assisting clients in maintaining their independence at home by providing domestic assistance (cleaning), personal care, community access, and activities such as shopping, banking, doctor appointments, post office visits, and social activities. Additionally, you will offer emotional support and companionship through “social supporting individual visits”, fostering a sense of security and wellbeing. The carer will document and report client and safety concerns accordingly.
This role primarily focuses on domestic assistance. You will help clients with cleaning tasks they may be unable to perform themselves, including sweeping, mopping, making the bed, and cleaning the bathroom.
The successful incumbent will support multiple clients daily, and may need to work alternate weekends to assist clients with medication management.
