Description Program/Department: Crosspoint Christian School Job Title: Cook Poulsbo Campus Reports To: Head of School Job Overview: The ideal candidate should have expertise in menu planning, food requisitioning, and preparing large quantities of food while adhering to food preparation and handling guidelines. As a member of the Gateway OneTeam, you will support and demonstrate an understanding of the church’s mission: living the Jesus-centered mission. Possessing a character that reflects biblical godliness, demonstrating a meaningful personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and active involvement in a local body of Christian believers are key qualifications. Job Status: Full-time Regular, 35-40 hours/weekly Exempt Status: Non-exempt Salary Range: $17-23/hr Benefits: Sick Holiday Vacation 403b (employee contribution) Medical, Dental, Vision eligible Employee Assistance Program Required Knowledge & Abilities Proficiency in preparing, cooking, and serving food in large quantities. Knowledge of standard liquid and dry measurements. Familiarity with inventory methods and practices. Understanding of the nutritional requirements of school-aged children. Familiarity with storage and rotation of perishable food. Plan, organize, supervise, and participate in the preparation, cooking, baking, and serving of a variety of foods in quantity. Handle food preparation and serving in large quantities. Operate commercial kitchen equipment and appliances. Prepare reports and maintain records. Requisition appropriate amounts of food and materials. Estimate food quantities needed and order correct amounts for cost-effective food service. Follow health and sanitation requirements. Understand and follow oral and written instructions. Complete other duties as assigned. Must be able to adhere to USDA food guidelines as well as washing DCYF licensing requirements Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other staff members. Physical Demands Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time. Dexterity in hands and fingers for operating kitchen equipment. Capability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy containers of food and materials weighing up to 50 lbs. Reach overhead, above the shoulders, and horizontally. Bend at the waist, kneel, or crouch. Requirements Education High school diploma or equivalent and responsible experience in preparing food in large quantities. License and Other Requirements Kitsap County Food Handlers’ Permit and current CPR Card.
