ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

BeeKeeper Technologies is hiring experienced, team‑oriented CCTV IP and/or Access Control Installation Technicians (3+ years) to install, service, and commission commercial‑grade security systems across light industrial, municipal, pharmaceutical, school systems, and multi‑site commercial environments Within the immediate area of New Castle County, Delaware. We do not do residential work

(MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS)

  • Must possess at least 3+ years installing and/or servicing commercial grade intrusion, access control, and CCTV/IP video systems within commercial grade environments.
  • Industry referral endorsed proficiency with NVRs - layer 2/3 networks - CCTV IP - commercial / enterprise class physical security systems knowledge: static addressing, subnets, DHCP, VLANs, PoE, IGMP snooping; can read a switchport profile, blueprints, as-builts, topologies, and can trace a device digitally and physically.
  • Experience with at least one enterprise platform: Avigilon Unity/ACC (strong plus), Avigilon ACM/Unity Access, LenelS2, Genetec, AXIS, or similar; field familiarity with HID Mercury (LP/MP controllers; MR50/MR52/MR16IN).
  • Comfortable with CCTV commissioning: adding cameras to VMS, setting retention/schedules, and validating image quality.
  • Read/interpret drawings, follow runbooks/SOPs, and produce clean, labeled work.
  • Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record are a must; and to be able to pass background screens appropriate for schools/municipal/pharma (e.g., CJIS eligibility where required).
  • Physical: climb ladders/lifts up to 24 ft, and lift/carry up to 75 lb with proper technique/PPE.
  • On‑call rotation availability for after‑hours/weekend emergency response.
  • Fluid with utilizing Field technician industry related service and diagnostic equipment such as Cable runs and network testing necessary to ensure proper wiring and connectivity within the security system infrastructure.
  • Multimeters & Voltage Testers: Verify 12v/24v low voltage electrical parameters and identify potential issues with power supplies, panels, boards, batteries and cabling.
  • Specialized Software diagnostic and testing tools for verifying device functionality and system integration assessments of existing installations to identify gaps in coverage and vulnerabilities.

Responsibilities
  • Service & troubleshoot access control systems and supporting field devices (readers, strikes/maglocks, door contacts, REX, power supplies, batteries).
  • Perform scheduled, routine preventive maintenance under contract: inspect, test, clean, calibrate, and verify system health; update firmware/software where approved.
  • Complete maintenance within assigned hours with the goal of zero call‑backs, escalating early when risks appear.
  • Assist with strategic technical planning and implementation (YOUR voice and YOUR experience counts on our team!) for new and expansion plans of existing installs: download, panel addressing, I/O validation, reader/door testing, time schedules, and event reporting.
  • Plan basic install activities: rough‑in, device layout, cable routes, labeling scheme, and as‑built updates; support check‑out for new system turn‑ups.
  • CCTV / Video: mount/aim/focus IP cameras; set IPs; program streams (H.264/H.265, GOP, bitrate), analytics/ROI; validate live and recorded quality in the VMS.
  • Networking fundamentals: terminate and label Cat6/Cat6A; basic fiber (SM/MM) handling * splicing and termination experience a plus!*; set switch port/VLAN/PoE profiles; use ping/LLDP and simple packet captures for triage.
  • Servers/NVRs: rack/patch, set static addresses, verify storage health, and perform approved updates during change windows.
