ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • SIA Public Space Surveillance (PSS) (CCTV) license.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written). ESOL level 2 for non-English speakers.
  • Experience in monitoring CCTV systems in a busy control room.
  • Competency in data systems, MS Excel, and Word.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Five years’ checkable work history with references.
  • Able to pass enhanced DBS screening.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a CCTV Operator, you will be responsible for the proactive and reactive monitoring of cameras and the operation of video recording equipment in a busy 24/7 Security Control Room. You will collaborate with the Trust’s Security Management Team, GSTS Management, and Supervisors to ensure the security and safety of the premises, colleagues, and the public.
The role often involves managing challenging situations that require various approaches. You will deal with difficult circumstances professionally, helping to prevent and manage incidents of violence and abusive behavior in accordance with Trust policies.
In emergencies, you will also be responsible for communicating with relevant emergency services and ensuring a secure and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Candidate Requirements:

MAIN DUTIES:

  • Monitoring CCTV systems to deter and detect crime, disorder, and to ensure the safety of the hospital.
  • Dealing with incidents, emergencies (including fire and intruder alarms), and unexpected events according to site-specific instructions.
  • Conducting internal and external CCTV patrols to preserve order and protect Trust property.
  • Liaising with emergency services and client representatives as necessary.
  • Completing daily electronic records using computer and paper-based systems.
  • Producing and analysing data from software systems.
  • Collaborating with clients, patients, visitors, and colleagues to resolve complaints and queries.
  • Adhering to health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Undertaking mandatory continuous training.
