CCTV PIPELINE INSPECTION OPERATOR – 1 POSITION

Due to the expansion of our business, we are seeking a highly motivated and energetic CCTV Operator.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 1 year experience using CCTV (closed circuit televising) to inspect underground infrastructure.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a leadership role, providing supervisory leadership.
  • NASSCO (National Association of Sewer Service Companies) certification is an asset.
  • Knowledge of standard methods, materials, tools, equipment and procedures utilized to conduct video inspections of underground infrastructure.
  • Experience with robotics an asset (Please highlight which system you work on).
  • Ability to plan, schedule, and assign the work of subordinates, including training and demonstrating applicable methods and procedures and to initiate appropriate disciplinary actions when required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with members of the public, staff and subordinates.
  • Minimum class 5 license with clean driver’s abstract. Log book training an asset.
  • CSTS (Construction Safety Training), First Aid, Confined Space, TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods) safety certifications an asset.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Flexible work schedule to accommodate production needs.
  • Punctual and reliable to meet work schedule needs.
  • Ability to work out of town.
  • Ability to pass a drug test.
  • Must be in good health and physical condition to perform duties assigned.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the CCTV inspection of underground infrastructure, such as, water, sewer, oily sewer, or storm pipelines. Provide a correct diagnosis of potential problems or concerns, such as, structural deterioration, blockages by roots or debris, or misalignment.
  • Operate CCTV equipment in a safe and professional manner.
  • Ensure safety procedures are followed for each setup.
  • Ensure customer and client satisfaction by providing excellent customer service at all times.
  • Ensure CCTV inspection process is completed to InfraHydro standards. This will include finding the optimum method of conducting the inspection, direct appropriate pre-inspection flushing and stringing of lead lines, set up and adjust equipment prior to entry into the pipe, monitor and control the progress of the televising unit while in operation, and prepare the necessary inspectional reports.
  • Deploys televising equipment and conducts the inspection by directing the movement of the unit through the pipeline and adjusting the camera to diagnose problems. Ensure video recordings and photographs taken accurately reflect existing problems. Ensure that work produced complies with clients’ specifications or code defects.
  • During the course of setting up equipment, conducting inspection and removing equipment, CCTV Operators will supervise activities of swampers and flusher operators assigned to assist with inspection. CCTV Operators will provide leadership and task delegation to the swampers and flusher operators through coaching and mentoring to ensure employee skill development.
  • Complete all required paperwork properly and within set time lines. Paperwork may include inspection reports, time sheets, daily reports, schedules, etc.
  • Maintain communication with clients and QA/QC officer via email or telephone.
  • Maintain CCTV equipment in very good operating condition by adjusting, cleaning, lubricating and performing minor repairs. Store equipment in a safe and proper manner. Maintain a supply of replacement parts and supplies required to conduct inspections. Report any major malfunctions or inefficiencies to supervisor to ensure proper repair in a timely manner.
  • Follow InfraHydro policies and procedures. Ensure swampers and flusher operators maintain standards and procedures.
  • Any other duties as assigned.
