The Directorate leads the implementation, integration, security, and operational oversight of the War Data Platform’s data operations and reliability functions, ensuring enterprise data systems meet evolving mission and operational requirements. Through the direction and oversight of data engineering, data operations, governance, and security activities, the Directorate ensures the War Data Platform maintains high standards of functionality, integrity, performance, and resilience. The organization conducts continuous analysis and evaluation of technology and system development efforts while leading the design, implementation, and delivery of the platform’s data integration capabilities to support CDAO customers, business processes, and operational priorities. In collaboration with stakeholders across the Department, the Directorate also contributes to strategic decision-making that strengthens enterprise data collection, distribution, cataloging, and management in support of data-driven warfighting and enterprise operations. This position is a DoD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 U.S.C. 1599f and does not convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. This position sits in Fort Hamilton, NY. The pay grade for this role is GG-1550-15. This role will close for submissions on May 12th, 2026 at 11:59:59pm. What you'll do here: Directs and oversees staff providing the data implementation, integration, security, and operations of the War Data Platform Data Operations and Reliability. Provides direction to and accepts/reviews/rejects a wide variety of contractor-supported deliverables including, but not limited to data engineering, data operations, data governance, and data security. Conducts continuing reviews and analysis of technology and system development to ensure that the War Data Platform meets CDAO's requirements with respect to functionality, reliability, integrity, and performance. Directs and/or carries out a wide variety of analysis, design, implementation, and operational tasks associated with the development and delivery of the data integration layer of the War Data Platform to meet the needs of all levels of CDAO's customers, business processes, and functional/non-function requirements. Participates in top-level decision-making regarding courses of action that will improve the utility and integrity of the War Data Platform's data collection, distribution, cataloging, and management.
