Description

The Summer Camp Assistant Teacher supports Lead Teachers and program staff in providing a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate camp experience for children. This role assists with daily activities, supervision, and implementation of curriculum while ensuring compliance with Department of Human Services (DHS) regulations. Positions available: * Full- and Part-time positions available between 7:00am-5:30pm. * Seasonal or permanent positions available. * Locations include Asbury CDC (3814 Asbury Road) and Saint George School (1612 Bryant Street). Responsibilities and Duties: * Assist Lead Teachers in planning and implementing daily camp activities (arts, recreation, educational enrichment). * Supervise children at all times to ensure safety and well-being. * Help maintain a structured, inclusive, and positive environment. * Support behavior management using approved guidance techniques. * Assist with meal/snack distribution and ensure proper hygiene practices. * Monitor attendance and help with check-in/check-out procedures. Qualifications/ Requirements: * High school diploma or equivalent for Assistant positions. * Experience working with children in a camp, school or childcare setting preferred. * Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills. * Minimum age requirement 18+.
