Main Purpose of the Role We are looking for an experienced Senior Associate to join our Commercial, Development & Investment team. The successful candidate will work closely with the wider team in providing advice to developers and institutional property investors on UK-wide development projects and investments. Working as part of a busy team, supporting and working closely with a partner, a principal associate, two senior associates, trainees and paralegals providing advice to domestic and overseas clients investing, operating and developing commercial and mixed-se real estate assets in the UK. Main Duties and Responsibilities Dealing with and running major lettings, pre-lets, running and supervising leasing and asset management of shopping centres; Leading on disposals and acquisitions of assets acquired as property transactions and through corporate vehicles; Funding: carrying out title investigation, searches, enquiries, drafting and negotiating Certificates of Title, wrappers, property warranties and undertakings in facility documents, managing the process and CPs on financings for borrowers; Demonstrating a keen interest to learn about our clients' businesses, networking and to assist in growing our own business; Business development, including delivering client training and other value add elements of client relationship building, assisting with pitch writing and attending pitch presentations; Dealing with compliance requirements, ensuring timely billing, WIP management and assisting in the collection of bills as necessary; Working with the partner on development projects; About You We are looking for an ambitious, organised and hard working senior lawyer with good experience working within a recognised real estate team advising sophisticated clients on the acquisition and the disposal of commercial and mixed-use assets, including shopping centres, student accommodation, offices, industrial & logistics, hotels and healthcare assets; the lifecycle of development projects including site assembly, development constraints, working knowledge of the Building Safety Act, development finance and disposal; Providing a pro-active, fast-paced and dynamic service to sophisticated and demanding clients; Demonstrating excellent technical and communication skills, ahigh level of attention to detail, accuracy and care in their work; Experience of working with forward funding and forward commitment documentation, long income and finance lease structures; Working in teams, commercially minded, supporting the partner and delegating to and supervising more junior associates in the team; exhibiting an excellent understanding of financial hygiene, delivering a best-in-class service to clients and a highly profitable and efficient practice; and A keen interest in and experience of using technology and AI in service delivery and improving efficiency. The role requires the successful candidate to be based in the London office at least three days per week.
