Description The CDL Jockey Driver is responsible for safely positioning trailers on the yard, supporting dock operations, and performing short local moves as scheduled. This role ensures efficient trailer flow, accurate placement, and timely staging to support warehouse, production, and outbound routes. This role requires working independently, following instructions via smartphone, staying organized, being flexible, and bringing a can-do attitude. Responsibilities: Jump in where needed to keep operations moving Keep trailers, trucks, and pallet jacks organized and clearly staged so dock operations flow smoothly and safely Check batteries, report mechanical issues, top off fluids when assigned, and assist with small fixes (lights, glad hands, dock plates, etc.) Shuttle trailers between yard spots, docks, and operational areas Back trailers into tight dock and yard spaces with precision Coordinate trailer placements with warehouse and dispatch Verify trailer numbers and paperwork upon movement Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and organization safety policies Support special projects during peak volume or emergencies Maintain clean tractor interior and yard safety practices Requirements: Able to speak and read English Class A Commercial Driver's License Able to pass a DOT physical and drug/alcohol test Able to complete a Post Offer / Pre-Employment Physical Test Able to complete background check Knowledge of DOT regulations, HOS rules, and basic tractor/trailer safety Strong communication and coordination skills Able to work in outdoor weather conditions year-round Must be able to lift/pull up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed Able to safely operate both manual and automatic transmissions
