At least 20/40 vision in each eye (corrected or uncorrected) with 70-degree field of vision in each eye. Ability to distinguish signals on traffic signals. Ability to hear a forced whisper at 5 feet (with or without hearing aids). Ability to climb in and out of a truck multiple times a day. Capable of sitting, standing, walking, and crouching for long periods. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs (hoses, fittings, and equipment). Able to maneuver liquid-filled tanker, which has a shifting center of gravity. Able to handle sudden stops, turns, and changing road conditions. Familiar with braking techniques for tankers (to prevent sloshing). Understanding of load dynamics and properly securing and inspecting vehicle/equipment. Capable of driving for long hours while maintaining focus. Must comply with Hours of Service (HOS) regulations to prevent fatigue. Able to react quickly to hazardous road conditions. Familiar with emergency shutdown procedures for leaks or spills.
