As a CDL Class B Driver, you will be responsible for safely operating a straight truck transporting goods and materials locally in a safe and timely manner. We currently have an 8am shift available - this is a full-time position out of our Waukegan terminal. The schedule is Monday through Friday, overtime may be required based on work load. No weekends! *Candidates will be training at our Crystal Lake home base terminal for the first week (paid mileage)* Safely operate a straight truck with a combined GVW of greater than 26,000 lbs. Be a safe and courteous driver in accordance with JA Frate, CSA, and DOT policies and regulations Delivery and pick-up of customers’ product in a timely and efficient manner Maintain organization of product(s) on truck to prevent injury or damage to self or freight Unload trucks using hand cart or lift gate when necessary Submit neat, legible and complete paperwork daily Daily pre and post trip inspections of vehicle, submit VIR daily Requirements Valid Class B CDL License Minimum of 2 years experience Minimum 23 years old High School graduate or GED equivalent. No more than 3 moving violations in the past 36 months and no more than 2 moving violations in the past 12 months. Must be able to pass drug screen, DOT physical and Functional Capacity Physical. CDL Hazardous Materials and Tanker endorsement preferred, or be willing to get within 90 days of hire date. Responsibilities
The primary responsibility is the safe operation of a straight truck to transport goods and materials locally in a timely manner, including delivery and pick-up of customer products. Drivers must also maintain product organization on the truck, unload freight when necessary, and complete required daily vehicle inspections and paperwork.
