Description
  The Role: Our drivers are crucial to the recycling process. They typically visit customer accounts to bring recycled materials into our yard to be processed. Drivers typically do 6-10 runs a day depending on the customer's material, box and location. The Company: Behr Iron & Metal, an Alter Company is looking to add to its team. Alter Trading Corporation, a 127 year old company, with 67+ scrap metal processing facilities throughout the Midwest and Southern region. Alter is committed to our customers by being the best source of both ferrous and non-ferrous metal and by giving great customer service. Brief Summary: * Operates a truck picking up metal within specified area. * Wait to be loaded by either Alter or customer and drive loads to customer or Alter. * Secure the Load based on type of truck or box. * Follow company safety standards at all times, including PPE and attending monthly safety meetings. * Perform pre- and post-trip inspections to insure motor vehicle is in safe operating condition * Communicate with dispatcher concerning delays, unsafe routes, accidents, equipment breakdowns * Other responsibilities as assigned Requirements: * Valid A CDL * Prior Commercial Driving Experience, at least 1 year * MVR able to pass our Safety requirements Benefits & Perks: * Comprehensive, robust benefits package * First shift position // Monday-Friday; Saturday as needed. * Hourly rate, OT after 40 hours * Local driving, short haul exempt, home daily * Longstanding, established company
